Fujitsu Announces EV Charging Relay

Fujitsu Components America, Inc. today introduced a high-voltage DC load switching relay series for the electric vehicle charging market with 13-percent higher voltage switching capability, 77-percent less power consumption, and a package size 40-percent smaller than similar, available relays. The FTR-E1 series is a compact, single-pole PC board relay available with 12VDC and 24VDC coils.It is nominally rated up to 30A, 450VDC (40A max/1hr), resistive, with 900mW power consumption.

The relay’s compact (43.6 x 28.3 x 36.8mm) package weighs approximately 75g, which is nearly 60-percent lighter than competitive devices. In addition, the FTR-E1 series also offers an electrical life of 10K operations at 20A, 450VDC resistive – nearly three-and-a-half-times that of leading products.

With a dielectric strength of 5,000VAC (1 min.) between coil and contacts, the FTR-E1 offers twice the insulation properties of similar relays. Non-polarized contacts enable it to switch between charging and discharging the load, making this relay well suited for use in on-board chargers and charging stations for electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, string disconnection of photovoltaics systems, and high-voltage DC load control systems.

Available immediately, the FTR-E1 is lead-free, RoHS compliant, and cULus recognized. Pricing begins at $29.85 each for single- to 99-piece quantities.

TDK Lambda Announces Low Noise Medical/Modular Power Supplies

TDK Corporation announces the introduction of the QM5 modular power supplies, rated at 700 to 1200W. These models are available with up to 12 outputs, have BF ready isolation and low acoustic noise. With medical and industrial safety certifications, the power supplies are suitable for use in medical, test and measurement, communications and broadcast equipment. Accepting a wide range 90 to 264Vac, 47-440Hz input, the QM5 can deliver 700W at low line and 1200W with a 150-264Vac input. With its modular construction, the series can be configured using a simple on-line configurator to provide 1 to 12 independently regulated outputs and include individual output good signal and remote on/off functions. Module output voltages range from 2.8V to 52.8V and output powers from 300W to 1200W. A further subset of option modules provides an AC Fail signal, standby voltages (up to 12V 2A), global remote on/off andPMBus™ communications. Overall case dimensions for the QM5 are 127 x 63.3 x 270mm (W x H x D).

The QM5 will operate in ambient temperatures of -20 to +70°C, with output power and output current linearly derating above 50°C to 50% at 70°C. With efficiencies of up to 91%, less internal heat is generated allowing the use of a low speed cooling fan to reduce audible noise. A lower airflow speed also significantly reduces the ingress of dirt and other contaminants, improving product reliability. All models in the QM series have a seven-year warranty as standard. The power supply has 4,000Vac (2 x MoPPs) input to output, 1,500Vac (1 x MoPPs) input to ground and 1,500Vac (1 x MoPPs) output to ground isolation. All models are certified to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60601-1, ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1, IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60950-1

and are designed to meet IEC/EN61010-1 with CE marking for the Low Voltage and RoHS2 Directives. Earthleakage current is less than 300μA for the QM5, and complies with the EN61000-6-3:2007 and EN60601-1-2:2015 (curve B conducted and radiated) emission standards. The units also meetthe EN60601-1-2 and EN61000-6-2 immunity standards and are designed and manufactured under the control of ISO9001 and ISO13485 (including risk management).

Fujitsu All-In-One 3" Printer

Fujitsu Components America, Inc. today released a compact, panel-mount printer unit that reduces the time and cost needed to integrate high-speed printing capabilities into a variety of receipt- and label-generating equipment. This new unit is an addition to the existing 2-inch 24VDC panel printer series, the FTP-62GUSL001-R. The FTP-63GUSL001-R series combines a 24VDC 3-inch, direct-thermal printer mechanism with automatic cutter and an RS-232C/USB interface board within a compact, panel-mount enclosure measuring 90mm (d) x 111mm (w) x 116mm (h). Target applications include self-service POS terminals, kiosks, ATMs, scales/measuring devices, and medical equipment.

The printer accommodates a variety of 80mm wide, large-diameter thermal paper rolls with a thickness range of 60-100μm. It prints text, graphics, characters, bar codes and images at speeds up to150mm/s (1200 dotlines/sec) maximum, with 8 dots/mm resolution. Service life is rated at 100km of paper (at 12.5% print ratio).

The integrated auto cutter can be programmed for either full or partial cuts and has a minimum life of 500,000 cuts. Manual paper feed and cutting is also possible using the external switches on the front panel.

The front-accessible, drop-in paper loading feature, along with auto paper feed, a straight paper path, and a unique platen release mechanism, simplifies paper changes and minimizes maintenance needs.
