TDK Corporation announces the introduction of the TDK-Lambda 30W CCG30G series of DC-DC converters. Operating over a 4:1 input range, these highly efficient products are enclosed in a 1 inch by 1 inch six-sided shielded metal case. Applications include data-communications, tele-communications, process control, broadcast, battery powered and test and measurement equipment. The CCG30S is available with 3.3V, 5V, 12V or 15V outputs and can operate from either a 9 to 36Vdc or 18 to 76Vdc input. The wide range enables inventory reduction programs as the converters can operate from either 12V and 24V or 24V and 48V nominal inputs without the need to stock two parts. With operating efficiencies of up to 91%, the CCG30S series will operate in ambient temperatures from -40 to +85oC. All models are backed by a five-year warranty and have a +/-10% output trim function, remote on/off and over voltage and over current protection. The fully isolated CCG series has an input to output isolation of 1,500Vdc and 1,000Vdc input or output to case. Safety certification includes IEC/EN 60950-1, UL/CSA 60950-1 with CE marking for the Low Voltage and RoHS2 Directives. Major applications Data and tele-communications, process control, broadcast, battery powered and test and measurement equipment.

TDK Lambda Announces Bidirectional Converter for Smart Grid

Bidirectional DC-DC converters are used in smart grid and alternative energy applications where converting of DC power is needed.

Cherry Announces Energy Harvesting Switch Line Up

Cherry is pleased to introduce a full line up of energy harvesting switch products. They have SDK/evaluation kits available for sale through distribution allowing end users and OEM’s to create applications for Cherry’s receivers and generators.

The generator converts mechanical energy to electrical energy, enabling our Energy Harvesting wireless snap and rocker switches to provide data transfer via RF technology, eliminating the need for batteries and allowing for unlimited life. This also eliminates the need for complex wire assemblies and increases flexibility for use in previously inaccessible locations. The generator is integral to the switches, and is also available as a stand-alone unit for use with your own mechanical switch.
